The Ten Top Paying Programs at ShareaSale this Week

I like Shareasale. They have a great interface, and they have about 1700 different programs. This puts them in the middle of the pack as far as ad networks go.

As their name implies, they concentrate on Pay-Per-Sale, but they do have many programs that are Pay-Per-Lead, and a few that are Pay-Per-Click.

Our preliminary calculations show that the average EPC for Pay-Per-Action is .38, which is a few pennies above Commission Junction. In Pay-Per-Lead, CJ blows them out of the water — Shareasale is .39, and CJ is .67.

Just a reminder…we’re using Earnings Per Click (EPC), which measures the profitability of the program. We are also using our own True EPC (TEPC), which measures the profitability of a single click rather than 100 clicks, as most EPC numbers do.

We turned the spider loose on their site, and here is a list of the 10 top programs for this week:

Rank Ad ID Category Description EPC True EPC Pay Type

Pmt Amt

1 8960 Gifts StrictlyGifts $735.00 $7.35 Sale 10.00%
2 4902 Shopping Malls ArabiaTower Online $592.17 $5.92 Sale 11.00%

5 9232 Education Mediaspike Inc $287.23 $2.87 Lead $15.00
6 6213 Financial Bonepile Inc $279.66 $2.80 Sale $30.00
7 6974 Commerce/Classifieds The Merchant Store $275.00 $2.75 Sale 3.00%
8 9377 Business Soundview Executive Book $257.50 $2.58 Sale 20.00%
9 2684 Web Hosting Net-Trend $251.00 $2.51 Sale 251.00%
10 4023 Financial EZPaydayCash.com $236.27 $2.36 Lead $7.00

One of the great things about Shareasale is the stats available for each program. Taking StrictlyGifts, the average sale is $146.95, and there’s a 10% commission. That means that roughly 1/2 of the people that click on the ad buy something. That sounds pretty darn good, provided your visitors might like personalized gifts.

The next two sites are also gift sites — one for Arabic themed gifts and one that sells chess sets from around the world. Both are extremely narrow in focus, and generate decent conversion. So if you think your site visitors will go for those themes, there are some great offers for you.

Commission Junction’s Top 10 was heavy on financial offers. Our friends at Shareasale have a few good financial offers as well. Bonepile, Inc. offers Best Loan Direct, a refinance source that pays $30.00 for leads, and they take anyone. They are a good source for subprime (lower credit score) customers.

I was curious about International Number Exchange, so I looked it up. It is an unlimited calling telephone service for business with a decent conversion rate.

As I always say:

If you think your visitors would be interested in the categories on the list, go down the list and choose a program that you think is right for your site, considering:

1. The action the visitor has to take for you to get paid. Theoretically the more you ask the visitor to do the less chance of a conversion, but that always depends on context. For example, if you have an introductory mortgage site, someone might be more inclined to fill out an application than just provide contact information.

2. The true EPC. You need to balance the payout against the true EPC, keeping in mind that your site will probably be different. If it takes 50 clicks to convert, the reward had better be good. If not, choose an advertiser with a lower conversion and higher payout.
