Maybe. According to JenSense results from the MediaPartners bot (Google’s AdSense web site crawler) have been showing up in Google’s organic search results.

This would be a major discovery, since Google has been saying for years that buying AdSense doesn’t affect your search position.

Jen presents some compelling evidence that results from the MediaPartners bot got indexed into Google.

And she’s not the only one. Some more interesting evidence from The Web Guerrilla Greg Boser. Here’s the story — Greg made some special templates only for AdSense as an experiment, using only the exact words that people wrote rather than the surrounding text and graphics, intending to try to tweak the AdSense keyword algo.

He redirected the GoogleBot but not the AdSense bot. Both sets of content ended up in the index. Very interesting.

What does it mean? It means you need to be careful that GoogleBot and MediaPartnersBot see the same content, or you’ll end up with duplicates. Beyond that it would be terrific if participating in AdSense helps get your pages indexed, even though Google specifically says it does not.
